[COMPANY NAME] ("we") is the controller of the personal data described here. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number [ICO NUMBER]. Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL], [ADDRESS].
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address when you subscribe.
- Subscription and billing records — plan, dates, amounts and payment status. Card details are collected and held by Stripe, not by us.
- Your age confirmation — a cookie recording that you confirmed you are 18 or over.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and fault-finding.
- Messages you send us.
We do not collect special-category data, we do not buy data about you, and we do not sell your data.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To provide your subscription, take payment and send service emails (renewal reminders, changes) — contract.
- To keep records for tax and accounting — legal obligation.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems — legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opt in — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run BetTheFarm, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Stripe (payments)
- Vercel (website hosting, London region)
- Supabase (database, London region)
- [EMAIL PROVIDER] (sending emails)
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK it is protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the ICO's International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while you subscribe, then 12 months.
- Billing records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to (HMRC requirement).
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
Cookies
We use only cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work: one cookie remembering your 18+ confirmation, your login session, and a setting remembering light or dark mode. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email [CONTACT EMAIL]; we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
